Maybe you haven't heard of this new animated Christmas film. If that's the case, you may want to gather the kids and tune in this year.
Built off a book written in 2017 by dad and television producer Adam Reed, "Reindeer in Here" follows the story of a young reindeer named Blizzard (Blizz) who lives at the North Pole with his unique group of friends. The group, each with their own unusual trait, bind together to save the future of Christmas, while also sharing the message that "different is normal." At the end of their journey, they find they've created a magical holiday tradition.
"Reindeer in Here" premiered last year on Nov. 29 on CBS and it was a hit. The film became the No. 2 animated holiday special, beating everything but the classical film "Rudolph."
Here's what to know.
Where to watch 'Reindeer in Here'
The movie will air on CBS this year on Dec. 2 at 8 p.m. EST. It will also stream all holiday season on Paramount+.
'Reindeer in Here' is born:This dad wanted a stress-free Christmas tradition for his kids. So he invented one.
'Reindeer in Here' cast
"Reindeer in Here" has been nominated for two Emmy Awards, one for "outstanding animated special" and the other for "outstanding editing."
It's A-list cast includes Henry Winkler, who received the script and said he was "doing this no matter what," USA TODAY previously reported. Winkler shared the importance of the film's message, saying that he has struggled with dyslexia and has "always felt different."
After Winkler joined, other cast members followed, including Candace Cameron Bure, Jim Gaffigan, Adam Devine and Donald Faison.
Where to buy 'Reindeer in Here' book and plush gift set
"Reindeer in Here" was born of Reed's determination to create a stress-free Christmas tradition for families. With the "Reindeer in Here" book and plush gift set, parents can welcome reindeers into their homes to communicate children's wishes to Santa. But there's no work for adults: reindeer don't hide or move and can be snuggled and carried around by their tiny owners.
"Reindeer in Here" is available at Target, Barnes and Noble and online at Amazon, and this year will be its first year featured in the Paramount shop. At Paramount, there is personalized gear, wrapping paper and a "different is normal" T-shirt.
